The public teachings are free and will remain so. If they have been of value to you, an offering sustains that possibility for others. There is no obligation — only invitation.
Many wisdom traditions operate on the principle of dāna — a gift economy in which teaching is offered freely, and those who receive sustain the teacher so the work continues. This is not charity. It is a recognition that value flows in both directions.
Old Teachings is built by one person. There are no investors, no advertisers, no brand partnerships. The work is sustained only by those it reaches. If that is you, your offering is received with gratitude.
If you are not in a position to give right now, read. Share the work with someone who needs it. That is an offering too.
